Campbell Cares: Our Annual Days of Service

Community

What do a scientist, a marketer, and an accountant have in common? They’re all Campbell employees who volunteered during our annual Campbell Cares Days of Service. Every spring, employees across the country take time to give back to our local communities.

This year we completed over 50 volunteer projects at 24 different locations! From hosting community cleanups and donation drives to preparing and serving meals at local food kitchens, nearly 10,000 employees gave back.

“One of the most important ways we can support our communities is through our people. We have so many wonderful employees willing to lend their skills and talent to give back and show how they care.”

– Kate Barrett, Director, Community Affairs

Giving back through the Campbell Cares Backpack Program

One of our signature initiatives, the Campbell Cares Backpack Program, was held at over 20 of our locations with each site selecting a local non-profit partner as its beneficiary. Employees decorated and filled bags with food and highly requested essential items. This year we were able to provide over 7,500 backpacks to schools and food banks in need.

The 2nd shift warehouse team from Paris, Texas organized a fundraiser where the money raised went directly to purchasing items to contribute to their backpack program. The bags were donated to the Crockett Care closet, a local organization that ensures food insecure students have access to healthy meals on nights, weekends, and during the summers.

What we do best: Connecting people through food they love

Food is what we do. And that means that ensuring people have access to delicious, nutritious, and affordable food is a responsibility we take very seriously. We volunteered with many local food banks and community kitchens to not only donate backpacks, but also to make, prepare, and serve food to those in need.

Thriving public spaces

At Campbell, we’re committed to creating more vibrant communities—including thriving public spaces. It’s why many of our volunteer projects were activities like outdoor clean ups and garden projects.

Finding creative ways to serve our local communities

Some teams thought outside the box and worked with organizations to find creative ways to give back and meet the needs of their communities.

Demonstrating care is foundational to who we are as an organization, and Campbell Cares Days of Service are just one way we get to live out our purpose and bring our values to life.
