Campbell’s® Chunky™ soup, the Official Soup Sponsor of the NFL, is renewing the “Mama’s Boy” campaign for the 2014-2015 season with one of the League’s most passionate players as its new spokesperson. Campbell’s Chunky brand has selected Richard Sherman, Seattle Seahawks cornerback and defending Super Bowl champion, as the new face of the “Mama’s Boy” campaign. Richard Sherman is not only an amazing athlete on the field; he is close with his mom, active in his community, passionate about his family and has a big personality.
This season Campbell is adding an exciting twist to the classic campaign. For the first time in years, the brand has chosen the player’s mom, rather than an actress, to be featured alongside the NFL athlete in the campaign. Richard Sherman’s mother, Beverly, will be featured in the new advertising.
By being featured alongside his real mother in the ads, Richard joins an even more exclusive group since the campaign’s introduction in 1997. He is one of the few Campbell’s Chunky Mama’s Boys to do this, joining the likes of Michael Strahan and Donovan McNabb.
As one of the premier defensive players in the NFL, Sherman is an ideal fit for the “Mama’s Boy” campaign – a passionate and focused competitor on the field, who becomes a Mama’s Boy off the field. Keep an eye out for the new campaign when it’s released during the start of the 2014 NFL regular season!
