CAMDEN, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nov. 14, 2008–Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) today announced the appointment of Sean Connolly as President, Campbell USA and Irene Chang Britt as President, North America Foodservice.
Connolly, 43, will be responsible for Campbell’s $3.7 billion U.S. Soup, Sauces and Beverages business. He will be based at Campbell’s headquarters in Camden and will report to Denise Morrison, President, North America Soup, Sauces and Beverages.
Connolly joined Campbell in 2002 and has worked in several significant roles at the company. Most recently, he led Campbell’s North America Foodservice business unit for the last two years. Prior to that, Connolly was Vice President and General Manager of U.S. Soup for three years. Under his leadership, Campbell’s U.S. Soup business experienced strong sales and profit gains, and the condensed soup business began its turnaround. Connolly started his Campbell career as Vice President, Marketing for Sauces and Prepared Foods.
Prior to joining Campbell, Connolly spent 10 years in brand management leadership positions in the Food and Beverage unit of Procter & Gamble. He earned a B.A. degree in economics from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. degree in general management from the University of Texas at Austin.
Irene Chang Britt, 45, will succeed Connolly as President, North America Foodservice. Britt joined Campbell in 2005 as Vice President and General Manager, Sauces and Beverages. Under her leadership, Campbell’s has had strong growth across the sauces and beverage portfolio, especially in the company’s beverage business which has experience double-digit growth driven by innovative new products, expanded distribution and bold advertising.
Prior to joining Campbell, Britt spent eight years with Kraft Foods, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Salted Snacks Division. She also held roles as Vice President and Business Leader of the Canadian Biscuit and Snacks Division and Vice President of Marketing for Salted Snacks in New Jersey, as well as roles in Strategy.
Earlier in her career, Britt spent 12 years at Kimberly-Clark, where she moved up progressively in marketing positions and held key assignments in sales and research and development. She has eight years of experience in the away-from-home market from her tenure at Kimberly-Clark, where she ran the company’s washroom systems business.
Britt also will be based in Camden and will report to Morrison.
Britt earned a B.A. degree from the University of Toronto and an M.B.A. degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
The appointments are effective December 1, 2008.
