National Business Group on Health Honors Campbell as One of Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles NJBIZ Names Campbell One of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey
CAMDEN, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 10, 2007–Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) has been recognized with two prestigious awards, both related to its workplace policies, practices, philosophy, and environment.
The National Business Group on Health, a national non-profit organization of 266 large employers, today honored Campbell for its commitment and dedication to combating obesity and promoting a healthy lifestyle for its employees. Campbell was among 41 employers who received the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award at the Leadership Summit sponsored by the Business Group’s Institute on the Costs and Health Effects of Obesity.
Additionally, NJBIZ recently named Campbell as one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey. Campbell ranked number 7 on the list of large companies and was the only consumer packaged goods company honored with the award.

Campbell received a Gold Award for its HealthWorks program, a long-term strategy to help employees take charge of their health. The HealthWorks program covers the entire spectrum of health, providing employees with education, resources, tools and a variety of programs, including: 100% preventive care coverage, a 24/7 nurse line, disease management, health risk assessment, high risk lifestyle management, a traveling health station, wellness programs, the Mayo Clinic monthly newsletter, smoking cessation, medical decision support, an employee assistance program (EAP), and a 9,000 sq. ft. health and fitness center at the Campbell’s world headquarters.

Details of Best Places to Work in New Jersey
The Best Places to Work in New Jersey award program, created in 2005, is produced by NJBIZ and sponsored by JH Cohn, Staffing Alternatives, and Novo Nordisk. This survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in New Jersey, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce, and businesses. The Best Places to Work in New Jersey program is made up of 50 companies split into two groups: 25 medium-sized companies (25-249 employees) and 25 large-sized companies (more than 250 employees).
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in New Jersey with assistance from Modern Think LLC, who analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
